HOW TO MAKE A White Russian

ABOUT the White Russian

A glass of Coffee Old Fashioned garnished with a lemon twist, and a bottle of Mibebee coffee liqueur on a concrete ledge with a textured wall background.

The White Russian is a creamy evolution of the Black Russian, and one of the world's most enduring coffee liqueur cocktails.

The History of the White Russian

The White Russian grew out of the Black Russian, a simple mix of vodka and coffee liqueur said to have been created in 1949 by bartender Gustave Tops at the Hotel Metropole in Brussels. Adding a float of cream in the decades that followed gave the drink its signature silky texture, and its popularity soared again after The Big Lebowski made it a cult favourite in 1998. Despite its name, the cocktail has no Russian origins; it takes its name from the vodka. With MiBebee Coffee Liqueur, crafted from premium Kenyan Arabica coffee, this timeless classic gains an extra layer of chocolate, caramel and vibrant coffee flavour.
